One of the most rewarding changes in my life in the last couple of years has been finding peace with a couple of small adjustments. If you haven’t found a calming routine yet, here are a few of mine that I think will help. Follow these ideas now, and you’ll feel better mentally and physically.

HAVE A CALM CORNER | Find a quiet spot where you can go to get away from the noise and commotion and just sit still a minute. Make sure it’s comfortable and warm. Do not bring any screens into your calm corner.

DECLUTTER | Clutter can mess with your mind, even on a subconscious level. It reminds you of all the “to-dos” that haven’t gotten to yet. If you have visible clutter that your eyes are taking in every day, it’s affecting your sanity. Get rid of it.

BETTER REST | Getting enough sleep reduces blood pressure, improves mood and alleviates stress. So set up your environment and evening routine so you can get more zzz’s. Do not keep your phone close by. Set up your charging spot away from your bed so that the noise and blue light don’t disrupt your sleep.
