Finding Meaningful Connection in an Age of Loneliness

Statistics show that we are more alone than ever. When you notice yourself feeling disconnected, there is ONE thing that you can do to feel connected again: INITIATE CONNECTION. Change how you perceive people and reach out to friends and family. Talk to as many people as you can. Start SMALL conversations. Even a short phone call with a loved one can help you feel a bit more connected. Share something about yourself, and open up. If part of your routine is stopping at Starbucks, instead of saying hi and placing your order, start a SMALL conversation by asking, “How’s your day going?” This can be a start that introduces you to a new friend. Talk to people you wouldn’t normally talk to. Every micro moment of connection helps.
