Nostalgia is big business with TV and movies that were popular back in the day, that have been revived in one form or another.  This time, it’s the wild reimagining of the Scooby-Doo franchise, as seen through the eyes of the gang’s beloved nerd, Velma. So far, I’ve enjoyed the show. I used to watch Scooby-Doo when I was a kid, and I still do. I was happy to see a new perspective on it. Velma is smart, flawed, and relatable. Although her “wokeness” is a bit corny, this is fitting given how she is portrayed as a modern teen. The fact that the rest of the gang was reimagined and given more depth than their original portrayals makes it refreshing. It has a diverse cast and is more accepting of their differences. If an S2 comes out, hopefully they’ll get some good changes in to make it better. But this project has a lot of wit and potential. Definitely a labor of love worth streaming.
